UI/UX Developer (React/Azure)

Location: Onsite in Hyattsville, Maryland, United States of America; the position description also states full-time hybrid work in Washington, DC.

Salary: $40–$45 per hour.

What you will do

• Design, code, modify, develop, and adapt front-end websites and web applications according to client specifications and established design systems.
• Build accessible, responsive user interfaces and apply user experience design best practices.
• Use modern technologies and methods to capture user requirements and support usability-focused workflows.
• Contribute new elements to the design system and maintain existing UI components.
• Integrate REST APIs and GTFS-driven data for web, Rider Tools, and signage/PIDS contexts.
• Collaborate with the team using Agile methodology and support Azure-based application delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8 years of experience.
• Demonstrated experience designing, deploying, enhancing, and supporting highly available, mission-critical applications for public-facing and internal business functions, primarily on Microsoft Azure and Power Platform.
• Expertise in enterprise tools, governance frameworks, security practices, and delivery methodologies for developing, integrating, and maintaining complex business applications.
• Strong React or Angular experience.
• HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript experience with component-based and responsive design.
• Experience with design systems, wireframing and prototyping, responsive web design, user journey mapping, and streamlined alert creation and oversight workflows for time-sensitive MICC operations.
• Knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG compliance.
• Experience consuming REST APIs and GTFS-driven data and rendering it across web, Rider Tools, and signage/PIDS contexts.
• Familiarity with Azure hosting, including Container Apps, Git, and CI/CD deployment.
• Awareness of migrating from the legacy Power Apps Portals front end to a modular Azure architecture.
• Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions, including sedentary work, occasional office movement, and repetitive computer-based tasks.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• PeopleSoft certification.
• Experience working with third-party systems.
• Experience with cloud-based PeopleSoft deployments.
