Research Engineering Associate I (Mechatronics/Robotics)

Location: On-site at the TTI Headquarters – CIR Building in Bryan, Texas, United States. This position is not eligible for hybrid or remote work. Work beyond normal business hours, weekends, travel, and work in hot, cold, or extreme weather conditions may be required.

What you will do

• Perform entry-level technical engineering assignments related to automated laboratory test development.
• Assist research personnel with designing and building components for laboratory tests.
• Set up and operate laboratory apparatuses and equipment.
• Collect and organize information for reports and prepare reports or report sections.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• No prior experience is required.
• Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform common office functions, communicate frequently with workplace colleagues, operate computers and office productivity equipment, and move heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Successful completion of a criminal history investigation and verification of credentials or other required information.

Nice to have

• Competence in Fusion360 or equivalent CAD software.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing, including design for 3D printing and CNC.
• Familiarity with Python, C++, and embedded systems.
• Basic electrical circuitry knowledge and soldering skills.
