Data Migration Engineer (Insurance Technology)

Location: Remote within the US, specifically Chicago, Dallas, or Atlanta.

Salary: $60,000–$90,000 USD annual base salary.

What you will do

• Execute assigned components of end-to-end customer data conversion and migration from legacy and competitor systems into hirify.global SaaS products, using SQL-based tooling to produce sample and final deliveries.
• Perform data extraction, acquisition mergers, transformation, cleanup, auditing, and validation to maintain accuracy, integrity, consistency, and business continuity.
• Develop standardized, efficient, repeatable data scripts and workflows, and analyze customer data and competitor system structures to improve migration quality and efficiency.
• Work directly with customers and internal stakeholders to understand requirements, manage expectations, and deliver customized migration solutions.
• Collaborate with Onboarding and Success Services, Development, Operations, Solution Services, and Support on testing, defect resolution, enhancements, implementation, and documentation.
• Contribute to a global Follow the Sun delivery model, adapt to changing plans and timelines, and increasingly use cloud data platforms and intelligent automation to improve migration speed, scalability, and quality.

Requirements

• Strong foundational knowledge of database structures and SQL, with demonstrated experience applying these skills in real-world data migration, integration, or transformation scenarios.
• Solid understanding of ETL concepts, data mapping, and data quality best practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a global team environment with work shared across regions for continuous delivery.
• Ability to manage multiple competing project timelines while remaining detail-oriented and customer-focused.
• Strong ownership and initiative, with the ability to align work to shared standards, processes, and delivery goals.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with SaaS data migration or ETL initiatives in a production environment.
• Experience or exposure to Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery and Cloud Storage.
• Experience with automation frameworks, scripting, or intelligent tools for data analysis, migration, or quality assurance.
• Interest in evaluating, validating, or refining AI-assisted or agent-based workflows for future data migration capabilities.
• Experience using Jira, SharePoint, or similar tools for work tracking, collaboration, and technical documentation.
