Business Consultant (Council Tax / Business Rates)

Location: UK, remote or hybrid depending on proximity to an NEC office; requires on-site customer consultancy and training, travel within the UK, and a pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK.

What you will do

• Provide consultancy and training on NEC Revenues & Benefits products and service implementations, focusing on Council Tax and Business Rates.
• Support local authorities through Revenues & Benefits migrations, annual billing activities, software implementations, and service improvement initiatives.
• Deliver on-site and online consultancy, webinars, screen-share sessions, presentations, demonstrations, and seminars for large customer groups.
• Recommend effective use of NEC software according to client business needs and ensure positive customer feedback and satisfaction.
• Feed customer issues back to consultancy and internal stakeholder groups, contribute to product development, attend user groups, and create user guides.
• Update product and legislative knowledge, mentor consultancy colleagues, and support related product management, business analysis, testing, or support activities when required.

Requirements

• Extensive, current expertise in one or more of Council Tax, Business Rates, or relevant NEC products and services.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems in demanding circumstances.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team across multiple projects in parallel.
• UK driving licence and willingness to work away from home as required.
• Pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK; documentary evidence is required.
• Offers are subject to satisfactory vetting, references, occupational health checks, and, depending on the role, a DBS check.

• Integration or interface experience with NEC Revenues & Benefits products.
• Experience with the NEC Citizen Access platform.
