Databricks Platform Engineer

Location: Poland; candidates must work from the European Union region and have a work permit.

What you will do

• Build, configure, and maintain Databricks workspaces and platform services.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and automate infrastructure provisioning, environment setup, and release management.
• Implement and support deployment processes with Databricks Asset Bundles or similar frameworks, as well as CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement and maintain Unity Catalog, data ingestion routes, and enterprise data platform governance capabilities.
• Support platform qualification and validation, including automated validation evidence generation, disaster recovery, resiliency improvements, and recovery testing.
• Provide operational support, sandbox provisioning, change control, knowledge transfer, platform handover, and operational transition in collaboration with platform, cloud, SRE, architecture, and engineering teams.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Databricks platform administration and engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Experience with Databricks Asset Bundles or similar deployment frameworks.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, platform automation, environment provisioning, and release management.
• Understanding of cloud platform operations and DevOps practices, plus experience in enterprise-scale cloud environments.
• Familiarity with disaster recovery, resiliency, and recovery testing.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with platform, cloud, SRE, and engineering teams, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work in regulated environments with documented processes and change control.
• Must work from the European Union region and hold a work permit.

Nice to have

• Experience working in GxP-regulated environments.
• Experience supporting qualification and validation activities, including IQ/OQ.
• Knowledge of enterprise data platform governance practices and experience implementing and maintaining Unity Catalog.
• Experience supporting large-scale data modernization programs.
• Exposure to AWS-based environments.
• Experience with platform handover and operational transition activities.
