Managing Director, BDO Capital Advisors - Investment Banking

Location: New York, NY; Stamford, CT; Woodbridge, NJ; or Melville, NY, United States. The role performs 100% of duties in the office and requires travel for client meetings and events during regular work hours, evenings, and/or weekends.

Salary: $250,000–$350,000 annually; ranges are listed for the national market, Maryland, and NYC/Long Island/Westchester.

What you will do

• Advise clients through mergers and acquisitions and strategic solutions, leading buy-side and sell-side transaction advisory engagements.
• Manage financial and business due diligence for companies, private equity investors, and debt investors.
• Develop client networks, market services, convert prospects into clients, and support sales and marketing strategies.
• Analyze historical and projected financial and operating trends, quality of earnings, working capital, liabilities, and transaction risks.
• Review transaction documents, support negotiations, and identify pre- and post-close business opportunities.
• Lead transaction execution, including due diligence, valuation analysis, contract negotiation, client deliverables, and coordination of execution teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and an MBA degree are required.
• At least 10 years of experience at an investment bank or in a similar corporate finance vertical is required.
• Experience successfully managing and leading teams of vice presidents, associates, and/or analysts both in person and remotely is required.
• FINRA Series 63 and 7 or 79 licenses, or active pursuit of licensure, are required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
• Strong business acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to understand how business model decisions affect performance.
• Comfort with ambiguity and fluid client situations; strong time management and prioritization skills for multiple deadlines.
• Advanced analytical and modeling skills, attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication, and a polished professional demeanor.
• Ability to work cohesively with colleagues and clients, remain self-motivated under pressure, and follow up proactively.
