Senior Site Reliability Engineer - Cloud Database Platform (Kubernetes)

Location: United States; remote with preference for Salt Lake City, Utah; hybrid role. U.S. citizenship and residency are required.

Annual U.S. base salary: USD $150,000.00–$205,000.00.

What you will do

• Deploy and operate Kubernetes-based infrastructure in AWS GovCloud and Google Cloud using Terraform, Terragrunt, and GitOps deployment pipelines.
• Own production reliability for the U.S. government cloud environment, including monitoring, alerting, capacity management, incident response, and post-incident improvements.
• Run platform services for observability, logging, secrets management, messaging, and CI/CD on Kubernetes.
• Implement security hardening and federal compliance requirements, including FedRAMP-related requirements, with security and compliance teams.
• Automate recurring operational work and participate in an on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering experience, including production Kubernetes operations.
• Strong Infrastructure-as-Code skills with Terraform and experience with GitOps-driven deployment workflows.
• Solid Linux, networking, and TLS fundamentals.
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, or similar tools, and log pipelines.
• Scripting or programming proficiency in Go, Python, or Bash.
• Clear written communication skills for runbooks, incident reports, and change documentation.
• U.S. citizenship and residency are required because of federal government cloud access requirements.

• Experience with Terragrunt.
• Experience implementing security and compliance requirements for federal environments.
• Interest in founding a new U.S. environment with high ownership and visibility while collaborating with a global platform engineering team.
