TL;DR
Material Planner (Supply Chain): Optimizing inventory levels and supply plans for production and sales materials with an accent on demand forecasting, safety stock management, supplier performance, and on-time delivery. Focus on analyzing supply-demand imbalances, coordinating factories and warehouses, improving inventory efficiency, and driving data-based process optimization.

Location: Shanghai, Shanghai, China; full-time, regular onsite position.

What you will do

  • Establish inventory classification systems using ABC, XYZ, and FMR analysis; optimize safety stock and manage obsolete inventory clearance plans.
  • Monitor inventory turnover days, on-time delivery rates, SKU-level stock alerts, and stockout risks; propose continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop supply plans from sales forecasts and production schedules, analyze supply-demand imbalances, and recommend inventory and procurement adjustments.
  • Coordinate factories, warehouses, order fulfillment, and suppliers to improve delivery arrangements, lead times, quality, and cost performance.
  • Support S&OP meetings across sales, marketing, production, and finance; maintain accurate and timely material master data.
  • Build KPI reporting and supply chain analysis using Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint; identify bottlenecks and support process optimization and cost-control projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above; logistics, supply chain, industrial engineering, or a related major is preferred.
  • 5–10 years of experience in logistics, procurement, inventory management, or supply chain planning.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and projects.
  • Proficiency with SAP, MRP, and other ERP systems for demand forecasting and inventory planning.
  • Expertise in Power BI, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint for complex data analysis and visualization.
  • Mastery of inventory optimization methods, including ABC, XYZ, and FMR analysis.
  • Strong data analysis, communication, coordination, problem-solving, teamwork, and change-management capabilities.
  • Fluent English for business communication and international collaboration.

Nice to have

  • Experience with JDA, SAP IBP, or other advanced supply chain planning systems.
  • Manufacturing industry background.
  • Supply chain-related certifications.
  • Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma and project management methodologies.
