Backend Engineer 1 (Java)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain Trust & Safety Assist, an agentic application supporting investigation workflows.
• Implement features and enhancements to mature the application into a core production capability.
• Build well-architected backend solutions using traditional services and LLM-driven agentic components.
• Collaborate with Trust & Safety Operations, product management, and architecture stakeholders.
• Participate in peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Participate in occasional on-call shifts and respond to critical alerts.

Requirements

• Customer-focused engineering approach with a demonstrated focus on customer and end-user impact.
• At least 1 year of backend development experience.
• Proficiency in Java and the Spring framework.
• High proficiency in agentic engineering using tools such as Claude Code and Cursor.
• Experience with web applications, databases, and microservices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Hebrew.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, FastAPI, LangGraph or LangChain, AWS data lake tooling, Redis, Playwright, React, and TypeScript.
