Data Platform Engineering Lead (Snowflake/dbt)

What you will do

• Own and evolve the hirify.global Data Platform architecture, analytics engineering layer, data models, and cost efficiency across dbt, Snowflake, and Azure.
• Define and technically enforce data contracts between producers and consumers in collaboration with Enterprise and Data Architects and Data Governance.
• Establish engineering standards for testing, CI/CD for data, code review, version control, observability, data quality, freshness, anomaly monitoring, and lineage.
• Provide modeled, tested, and documented data foundations for semantic and metrics layers, supporting self-service data usage and AI/ML needs.
• Lead architecture decisions, technical design reviews, delivery planning, and collaboration with IT and infrastructure stakeholders.
• Mentor one internal Data Engineer and provide functional oversight for approximately 5–7 external delivery partner resources.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering, including ownership of platform-level architecture rather than only pipeline delivery.
• Deep hands-on mastery of Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, and Azure.
• Advanced SQL and solid software-engineering fundamentals, including testing, CI/CD, modularity, versioning, and medallion architecture.
• Experience with data contracts, data quality frameworks, and observability frameworks.
• Experience with cloud and data platform cost management and FinOps.
• Experience in multi-market, multi-source enterprise environments.
• Hands-on use of AI tools to accelerate engineering work.
• Proven experience setting engineering standards adopted by a team and mentoring engineers.
• Master's or Engineering degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or an equivalent field; equivalent professional experience is accepted.
• Fluent English.
