Commissioning Electrical Lead (Oil & Gas)

Location: Resident in Istanbul, Turkey, with a UAE option during preparation; rotational work at the construction site in southern Iraq during execution. Preparation includes approximately three one-week trips to Iraq per year, plus travel to the UK, Turkey, UAE, and vendor factories.

hirify.global is recruiting for a major international energy operator developing an integrated oil, gas, water injection, and solar power project in the Basra region of southern Iraq.

What you will do

• Review and validate electrical commissioning procedures, check sheets, test plans, system boundaries, and interface logic for the CPF and wells-and-pipelines packages.
• Maintain electrical completion data and commissioning documentation, including the completion management database, punch lists, lessons learned, and handover records.
• Coordinate FATs, electrical testing, system integration, safe energization, and functional testing with vendors, contractors, Field Operations, and Maintenance.
• Prepare temporary equipment, systems, tools, risk assessments, and commissioning plans for electrical activities.
• Supervise site electrical commissioning against HSE standards, specifications, and schedule; lead one Electrical Supervisor and coordinate with the contractor.
• Act as Electrical Isolation Authority for networks above 20 kV and support RFC, AOC/RFSU, and electrical system handover milestones.

Requirements

• Engineering degree.
• 15+ years of experience in oil and gas projects as a Commissioning Electrical specialist.
• Experience with major electrical vendors such as Schneider, ABB, and Siemens.
• Ability to work effectively with client, contractor, and vendor personnel.
• Fluent English is mandatory.

Nice to have

• Experience as a Commissioning Electrical specialist or Electrical Isolation Authority.
• Knowledge of structured commissioning methodologies and completion management software such as ICAPS.
