Security Engineer (IT Security)

Location: Remote; Poland, Serbia, Georgia, or Cyprus. Flexible working hours and hybrid or remote options may apply depending on the role.

What you will do

• Operate and automate Microsoft Defender XDR, Entra ID, and Wazuh SIEM to protect networks, systems, and applications.
• Monitor and triage security events, investigate incidents, prepare reports, and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
• Handle user-reported phishing, maintain email protection controls, and define security requirements for operating systems, networks, and services.
• Manage endpoint security and compliance through Intune and Kandji, track vulnerability remediation, and conduct access reviews.
• Run security awareness activities, including training materials, phishing simulations, results reporting, and employee communications.
• Maintain security policies, support ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2, BSI C5, and PCI DSS audits, and review third-party software, SaaS, and AI tools with Legal.

Requirements

• Experience in security operations or security engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Defender XDR, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, and a SIEM.
• Solid understanding of networking and administration of Windows, macOS, and Linux.
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2, and other security compliance frameworks.
• Scripting skills with PowerShell, Python, or Bash for automation.
• Ability to explain security topics to non-technical audiences.
• Fluent English.

Nice to have

• Experience with Vanta or a similar compliance automation platform.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft SC-200, CompTIA Security+, or CySA+.
