Senior Engineer, Mechanical Engineering (Gas Purification)

Location: San Luis Obispo, CA, United States; onsite

Salary: $112,000–$119,000 per year, with actual pay dependent on overall skills for the role

What you will do

• Create and refine mechanical components and sub-systems for gas purification systems.
• Integrate mechanical systems with electrical and controls sub-systems in collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Conduct simulations, performance and reliability analyses, testing, and validation against industry standards.
• Analyze and optimize purification processes to improve efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and minimize environmental impact.
• Prepare engineering drawings, design specifications, test reports, and other technical documentation.
• Track gas purification technology advancements, contribute to continuous improvement, and mentor less experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering degree.
• Minimum 5–8 years of mechanical engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 3–6 years with a Master’s degree.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software and simulation tools such as SolidWorks Simulation or ANSYS.
• Experience with SolidWorks 3D CAD and 2D drawings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including troubleshooting complex systems and processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying technical information clearly and concisely.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proactive mindset with a passion for innovation and sustainability.
