Staff iOS Engineer (AI/Fintech)

Location: New York, NY; in-person attendance is expected at least 3 days per week.

Base pay: $230,000–$270,000 USD for Zone 1 locations, including New York, NY and Menlo Park, CA. Additional eligibility includes bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Set the technical vision for mobile across iOS and Android while remaining hands-on in iOS.
• Own the architecture of a scalable iOS application supporting stock detail, advanced charts, trading ladder, watchlists, and portfolio surfaces.
• Build modular mobile components that cross-functional teams can independently build, test, and ship.
• Improve performance, real-time data handling, observability, rendering, launch time, page-load time, and release stability.
• Evolve charting and research experiences and integrate AI-driven capabilities into trading, research, and portfolio workflows.
• Lead technical planning, system design reviews, incident resolution, cross-functional release decisions, platform direction, and engineer mentoring.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience developing iOS applications, including large-scale apps with Swift and modern iOS frameworks such as UIKit and SwiftUI.
• Proven experience owning the technical direction of a product area or platform.
• Experience designing mobile systems with clear architecture patterns, scalable component design, and maintainable testing strategies for data-intensive or real-time use cases.
• Experience leading technical initiatives across multiple teams or platforms while balancing short-term delivery with long-term platform improvements.
• Strong working knowledge of Android development principles.
• Ability to collaborate with product, design, backend, and infrastructure partners on customer-focused technical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex trading concepts into intuitive mobile experiences.
• Experience mentoring engineers and fostering engineering excellence.

Nice to have

• Experience with financial platforms, trading systems, or real-time market data products.
• Experience with server-driven UI, embedded web or React Native surfaces, live audio/video streaming, or LLM-powered product features.
