Technical Product Support Engineer III (Semiconductor Equipment)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States; frequent travel required 50% of the time; relocation is not eligible.

Salary: $110,500–$152,000 per year.

What you will do

• Provide technical support for a specific customer, including escalations, fleet performance, system installations, improvement programs, and upgrades.
• Act as the field escalation point between customers and the division, supporting field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel with documentation and troubleshooting guidance.
• Support alpha and beta sites with the installation, operation, calibration, servicing, and testing of new hardware, software, and processes.
• Review engineering change orders and ensure fixes are supported by appropriate data and communicated to field teams.
• Generate and present system performance, process, and spending data, including MTBF, MTBI, and availability metrics.
• Create, review, and present technical improvement, upgrade, and support-plan documentation and ensure field implementation.

Requirements

• Conceptual and practical expertise in the relevant discipline, with basic knowledge of related disciplines.
• Knowledge of best practices and how the discipline integrates with other functions.
• Awareness of competition and market differentiation factors.
• Ability to solve complex problems, evaluate multiple information sources, and apply judgment to existing and new solutions.
• Ability to explain difficult or sensitive information and build consensus.
• Ability to act as a resource for less experienced colleagues and potentially lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements.
