Robotics Engineering Intern (Robotics)

Location: Zürich, Switzerland; start as soon as possible, ideally by December 1st, for at least 6 months.

hirify.global is an ETH Zurich spin-off building autonomous outdoor security robots and providing hardware, software, and service operations through Robotics as a Service for critical infrastructure customers.

What you will do

• Investigate robot issues in the field, identify root causes, and pinpoint faulty components.
• Design and run factory acceptance tests and pre-deployment tests.
• Analyze robot data to identify common failures and communicate findings to the development team.
• Coordinate software feature releases and deploy them across the robot fleet.
• Support customer deployments and help keep the robots operational.

Requirements

• Pursuing a BSc or MSc in robotics, mechanical engineering, computer science, or an equivalent field.
• Hands-on robotics experience involving both software and hardware.
• Familiarity with Ubuntu, ROS, Python, shell, Docker, and similar robotics tools.
• A multidisciplinary, hands-on approach and willingness to replace robot parts or learn new programming languages and tools.
• Goal-driven and independent approach, with a focus on getting robots working properly.
• Good English skills at C1 level.
• Ability to learn quickly and work through chaotic situations involving several robot issues at the same time.
