Security Research Manager (Cybersecurity)

Location: Onsite in Boston, MA or Raleigh, NC, United States.

Salary: $160,000–$240,000 annual base compensation; additional annual bonus and stock plan are mentioned.

What you will do

• Set research priorities for data collection prototypes, big-data analytics pipelines, and security exposure assessment methodologies.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams on capability roadmaps and transfer research prototypes into production.
• Translate strategic business challenges into technical research plans and develop product features based on security trends.
• Recruit, train, and develop a multifaceted security research team.
• Communicate research findings and defensible recommendations to business stakeholders, support marketing activities, and engage with customers.
• Establish quality assurance processes for research and data and maintain data partnership opportunities with Data Operations.

Requirements

• Strong technical background with expertise in networking and information security.
• Strong communication and analytical skills, including the ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems.
• Experience applying AI tooling to accelerate projects and workflows while understanding and mitigating introduced risks.
• Experience leading research initiatives and teams to build security products.
• Proficiency in writing and reviewing code for prototype development.
• Proven experience in security data analysis and presentation.
• Ability to conduct, interpret, and explain statistical experiments to quantify research value propositions.
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a similar field, or commensurate experience.
