Research Scientist III (NGS)

Location: On-site in Boulder, Colorado, United States

Salary: $85,000–$105,000 annually, plus bonus or incentive pay

hirify.global’s Integrated DNA Technologies develops genomics and life-science solutions, including Next Generation Sequencing products that support research in cancer, infectious disease, and rare genetic disorders.

What you will do

• Develop new NGS assay products using wet-lab and dry-lab methods.
• Plan and conduct experiments, analyze data, and interpret results with minimal oversight.
• Develop creative solutions for unresolved problems and improve existing technologies.
• Provide subject-matter expertise and support for on-market NGS products.
• Present experimental product demonstrations at scientific conferences.

Requirements

• M.Sc. in life sciences or a related discipline with 3+ years of NGS experience, or a Ph.D. with NGS experience.
• Experience preparing nucleic acids for NGS in a wet-lab setting.
• Experience programming for NGS data analysis in a dry-lab setting.
• Foundational knowledge of human genetics and cancer biology.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for clearly summarizing complex scientific topics.
• Familiarity with Illumina sequencing technology and ability to work in a laboratory environment for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Python programming, machine learning methods, and NextFlow experience.
• Experience developing cancer-genetics products, RNA-seq gene-expression phenotype classifiers, or methylation-detection NGS methods.
• Experience loading and troubleshooting Illumina sequencers.
