Business Development Lead for AI & Compute

Location: Remote, but must be based in San Francisco and build relationships in person across the Bay Area.

A core contributor to the Monad protocol, focused on growing an ecosystem around a performant and parallel EVM Layer 1 for decentralized applications, AI infrastructure, compute markets, and onchain finance.

What you will do

• Own sourcing and activation of AI, compute, and crypto teams in San Francisco and the wider AI community, from qualification through deployment and launch.
• Build relationships with venture firms, crypto-native capital, AI founders, GPU providers, neoclouds, trading firms, and market makers.
• Recruit protocols, index providers, curators, liquidity providers, compute operators, and trading partners for compute-market products, including compute index vaults, tokenized-compute lending, and hedging products.
• Find and activate teams building agent-driven and stablecoin payment products, including x402 and emerging payment models.
• Structure and close commercial collaborations, connecting traditional financial structuring with onchain execution and settlement.
• Coordinate technical, ecosystem, DeFi, communications, and legal support while tracking launches, users, payments, liquidity, and sustained volume.

Requirements

• Record of closing and launching BD or strategic partnerships from an initial conversation to a working product, including work with growth or late-stage businesses.
• Strong relationships across AI and compute, including founders, venture investors, GPU providers, neoclouds, trading firms, and market makers.
• Understanding of AI business models and the ability to connect relevant ecosystem participants.
• Ability to explain the value of Monad to partners, earn trust, involve technical experts, and sustain momentum through complex integrations.
• Ability to build an independent pipeline, prioritize real use cases, define success and failure criteria, and discontinue weak opportunities.
• Effective collaboration with low ego and the ability to operate without a playbook.
• Must be based in San Francisco and willing to build in-person relationships with AI, compute, and crypto communities across the Bay Area.
