Accounting Manager

Location: On-site at the Caringbah head office, Sydney, Australia. Full Australian working rights are required.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop two accountants by setting priorities, allocating work, reviewing outputs, and supporting capability development.
• Own the month-end close timetable, prepare and post journals, complete reconciliations, review general ledger balances, investigate variances, and resolve outstanding items.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, provisions, fixed assets, and intercompany accounts while performing detailed accounting work as required.
• Own the financial internal control framework, including segregation of duties, approval and access controls, reconciliations, master-data governance, and evidence retention.
• Implement and monitor applicable SOX controls, coordinate testing, respond to audit requests, and remediate control deficiencies with process owners and finance teams.
• Support budgeting and forecasting, coordinate tax and statutory submissions, prepare annual financial statements, and manage internal and external audits.

Requirements

• Degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
• Experience in a high-volume commercial environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and confidence working with large volumes of data.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Understanding of inventory and stocktaking; inventory accounting and product costing exposure is encouraged.
• Full Australian working rights that align with the role criteria.
• Willingness to undertake pre-employment background checks, a National Police Check, and two reference checks.

Nice to have

• CPA, CA, or a comparable professional qualification.
• Manufacturing, wholesale, FMCG, or industrial product experience.
• Product costing experience.
• Experience with ERP and contemporary financial reporting systems such as HFM.
