Weapons Delivery SME

Location: Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, United States; full-time onsite. Travel: 10–20%. Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance.

What you will do

• Determine aircraft and weapon requirements for CWDS, JSEAS, CASES, and GWTS, establish priorities, and participate in software development, testing, and evaluation.
• Coordinate with users at Air Combat Command, Air Force Materiel Command, Air Force Research Laboratory, test wings, Weapons School personnel, squadron pilots, and contractors.
• Draft and review requirements, validate technical accuracy, recommend software changes, and verify help-file content.
• Track feature, user-story, and bug resolution through customer acceptance while communicating risks, timelines, milestones, and project metrics.
• Assess training, syllabi, mission scenarios, and testing cases to improve courseware, training documents, software baselines, and testing objectives.
• Manage client interactions, build knowledge of mission objectives, and maintain accountability records for classified materials, including transfer and destruction.

Requirements

• Previous Fighter/Bomber Pilot or Weapons Officer experience and 10 years of Active, Guard, or Reserve military experience.
• Combat Weapon Delivery experience with GP bombs, laser-guided bombs, precision-guided munitions, and 20/25/30mm strafe weapons.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Expert proficiency with MS Project, MS Word, and MS Excel.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work both independently and as part of a team; organized, detail-oriented, and customer-service focused.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance.

Nice to have

• Fighter Weapons School graduate with 20 years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science; a master’s degree is desired.
• Current security clearance.
• Knowledge of or familiarity with the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS).
• Familiarity with or knowledge of Next-Generation Open Mission Systems (NOMS) for mission planning.
