What you will do

• Lead the transition from broadcast-focused newsrooms to multi-platform newsrooms by creating, editing, and writing original digital content.
• Collaborate with reporters on story construction and publication, and pitch local and trending stories aligned with the brand.
• Shoot and edit digital content and use social media and the website to build brand recognition and engage viewers.
• Research and gather information through interviews, events, experience, and attendance at political, news, sports, artistic, and social functions.
• Review copy for errors in grammar, punctuation, editorial style, and formatting, ensuring journalistic integrity and production quality.
• Build and calendar digital campaigns promoting local shows and specials.

Requirements

• Social media reel.
• Experience or education in journalism.
• Strong understanding of Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and other social media platforms.
• Highly motivated, able to work independently, and able to meet deadlines.
• Maintains a positive work environment through active participation and cooperation with coworkers across departments.
• Responds positively to feedback.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Canva, CapCut, Dreamweaver, and basic HTML.
