Assistant Video Editor / AD

What you will do

• Support the video director by organizing multi-day shoot schedules and assessing storyboards during pre-production meetings.
• Assess and communicate the time and equipment required for each shot across the full production scope.
• Perform DIT responsibilities, including downloading, tagging, converting, and transferring footage to the editing team.
• Manage camera card workflow and monitor focus, exposure, image quality, and continuity.
• Support the video crew with audio assistance, vehicle packing and unpacking, equipment setup and tear-down, and production logistics.

Requirements

• 4-year college degree or equivalent work history in the field.
• 5 years of commercial film AD and DIT experience.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere and Silver Stack or similar software.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Experience with on-set commercial video workflows from concept through footage transfer.
• Experience communicating on set, calling shots, and judging time allotment per shot as the shoot day progresses.
• Ability to work as a team player, build trust, work well under pressure, solve problems, stay detail-oriented, maintain relationships, and prioritize efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
