Consultant II, Outsourced Human Resources

Location: Remote

Base salary: $66,000–$89,000 per year; eligible individuals may also receive an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Provide ongoing HR outsourcing support, responding to clients’ day-to-day HR questions and service needs.
• Research and apply federal, state, and local employment requirements and help clients implement practical HR practices.
• Draft, review, and update employee handbooks, workplace policies, procedures, templates, and other HR documentation.
• Support onboarding, employee changes, performance management, leaves of absence, employee relations, benefits administration, and offboarding.
• Manage smaller client engagements or defined portions of larger engagements, coordinating activities, documentation, deadlines, and client communications.
• Identify and escalate scope, budget, quality, compliance, scheduling, capacity, or availability concerns while contributing to internal HR tools and process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, organizational development, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in a professional services firm or at least 4 years of private-industry experience as an HR Generalist.
• Work toward obtaining a professional HR certification within the first year of hire.
• Provide clear, professional HR guidance to clients and team members and adapt communication for different audiences.

Nice to have

• Professional HR certification or demonstrated progress toward an appropriate certification.
• Experience supporting multiple departments, business units, locations, or clients.
• HR consulting, outsourced HR, professional services, or advisory experience.
• Experience with employee relations, performance management, leaves of absence, onboarding, offboarding, or compliance initiatives.
• Experience supporting multistate employers or researching state-specific employment requirements.
