Motion Designer (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA; hybrid work model with 3 days in the office per week. Relocation assistance is offered to new employees.

Salary: $223K–$247K base pay, plus equity, performance-related bonuses for eligible employees, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and produce motion assets for B2B marketing and communications, including integrated campaigns, product launches, customer stories, films, events, social content, web experiences, and presentations.
• Translate complex technical concepts, AI capabilities, and products into clear and engaging motion for business leaders, technical decision-makers, developers, and enterprise buyers.
• Develop visual narratives connecting OpenAI technology to customer needs, organizational change, and business outcomes.
• Collaborate with brand, product marketing, sales, communications, producers, project managers, and other cross-functional partners from concept through final delivery.
• Develop storyboards, motion studies, and prototypes, and apply motion design principles and systems consistently across B2B channels.
• Execute detailed animations, adapt work across audiences, platforms, and formats, manage timelines, and participate in reviews and critiques.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Animation, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of experience in motion design, with a portfolio demonstrating strong brand, campaign, or B2B marketing work.
• Proficiency with industry-standard motion design and animation tools.
• Strong fundamentals in storytelling, timing, composition, typography, and visual systems.
• Experience translating complex products, technologies, or ideas into accessible and compelling creative work.
• Experience creating motion across B2B marketing and communications touchpoints.
• Ability to collaborate across creative and business disciplines and communicate design decisions clearly.
• Comfort working with evolving briefs, technical subject matter, and multiple stakeholder perspectives.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a high bar for quality.

Nice to have

• Experience creating work for enterprise technology, AI, developer, or B2B audiences.
• Experience working on global brand, product marketing, or integrated B2B campaigns.
• Familiarity with motion systems or design systems for global brands.
• Experience partnering with product marketing, sales, product design, or engineering teams.
• Experience developing customer stories, event content, executive presentations, or sales-enablement creative.
• Exposure to interactive, immersive, or real-time motion experiences.
