Simulation Software Engineer (GUI/HMI)

Location: Getafe Area, Spain; occasional travel abroad, mainly within the EU

What you will do

• Design and develop Human Machine Interface software for simulation solutions.
• Define and implement complex simulation assets for multiple programs and products.
• Derive system requirements from operational requirements and design software-module architectures for new simulator functionalities.
• Develop graphical user interfaces using web technologies and standalone application technologies.
• Perform integration testing and coordinate closely with internal colleagues, stakeholders, and external partner companies in an Agile team.
• Travel abroad occasionally, mainly within the EU.

Requirements

• Degree or Master's degree in Software, Aeronautical, Telecommunication Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Professional experience in software development, including excellent software development skills.
• Experience in one or more of the following is mandatory: training simulators, distributed technologies, web frameworks, UI design and testing, cloud computing, web services, GIS assets, or virtual engineering.
• Web technology and JavaScript development experience across front-end and back-end/full-stack applications.
• Knowledge of ES6, Web Components, Proxies, JavaScript async programming, workers, and HTML Canvas graphics.
• Experience with HTML and CSS for web-page design, Node.js, Express.js, and at least one common template engine such as Pug, Mustache, or Dust.
• Knowledge of GIS libraries such as OpenLayers, Cesium, or MapLibre-GPL.
• Capability with standalone application development, including HMI development with Qt and software knowledge in C++ and/or Python.
• Good English skills at B2/C1 level.

Nice to have

• Experience in the aviation, simulation, or defence industry.
• Knowledge of GIS servers such as GeoServer.
• Knowledge of Electron.
• Knowledge of WebRTC, FFmpeg, and/or GStreamer.
• Knowledge of WebGL.
• Contributions to open-source projects, with a GitHub, Bitbucket, or GitLab profile.
