Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (AWS GovCloud)

Location: Full-time on-site at the Playa Vista office in Los Angeles, California, USA. Must be a US Citizen.

What you will do

• Design, build, deploy, and manage complete cloud infrastructure from the ground up, primarily across AWS GovCloud and Microsoft Azure.
• Design secure, scalable, and highly available IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments, including cloud networking, identity, access controls, encryption, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or similar tools, and automate provisioning, configuration, deployments, monitoring, and operational tasks.
• Develop Python or similar scripts and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across compute, storage, networking, identity, security, applications, and connectivity.
• Monitor cloud environments, respond to infrastructure incidents, and lead projects from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and completion.
• Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, runbooks, and infrastructure standards while collaborating with software engineering, DevOps, security, IT leadership, and the Cloud Infrastructure Security Engineer.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of cloud computing and IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS service models.
• In-depth hands-on experience with AWS GovCloud and Microsoft Azure, including the ability to build complete cloud environments from scratch, particularly in AWS GovCloud.
• Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, networking, security, identity, storage, compute, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Advanced Infrastructure as Code experience, with Terraform strongly preferred.
• Strong automation and scripting skills using Python or similar languages.
• Ability to investigate complex issues, identify root causes, develop multiple viable solutions, and evaluate trade-offs.
• Understanding of CI/CD, version control, automation pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and complete technical projects on schedule, with strong technical documentation and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Cloud Computing, or a related technical field.
• 5–7 years of progressive experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, DevOps, systems engineering, or a related technical discipline, including 3+ years of hands-on production experience with AWS and/or Azure.
• Must be a US Citizen and willing to work full-time on-site in the Playa Vista area of Los Angeles.

Nice to have

• Significant experience with AWS GovCloud.
• Experience with CloudFormation, Bicep, Pulumi, or similar Infrastructure as Code tools.
