Senior Node.js Back-End Engineer

Location: Bucharest, Romania

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and secure, efficient backend APIs.
• Migrate and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, including infrastructure provisioning with Terraform.
• Automate backend deployments and optimize cloud resource utilization for cost-effectiveness and scalability.
• Implement cloud security measures based on OWASP practices and troubleshoot complex backend issues.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, DevOps professionals, and cloud architects.
• Mentor colleagues, share knowledge, and use AI tools such as Claude and Codex to improve development productivity, code reviews, and code quality.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with TypeScript and excellent TypeScript knowledge.
• Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of authentication technologies including OAuth, OpenID Connect, and SAML.
• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Understanding of messaging and broker systems including Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ, Kafka, SNS, and SQS.
• Understanding of security concepts and OWASP best practices, DevOps practices, infrastructure-as-code, observability, CI/CD, and quality engineering.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Passion for building high-quality, scalable, and secure software; daily use of AI tools such as Claude and Codex to improve code quality.
• Fluent English communication.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
