Trade & Customs Trainee

Location: Mexico City, Mexico; full-time availability in Mexico City is required.

What you will do

• Support customs regulatory processes and trade-compliance requirements.
• Coordinate with customs brokers and follow up on required information, documentation, and pending actions.
• Support CTPAT activities and prepare, organise, and review supporting records.
• Collect, organise, and track documentation and evidence for internal audits.
• Follow up on projects, action items, controls, and deadlines, escalating questions or risks when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate trackers, files, reports, and customs-related records while collaborating with internal stakeholders and external service providers.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing, close to completing, or recently graduated from a Bachelor's degree in International Trade, International Commerce, Law, Economics, Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Full-time availability to participate in the trainee programme in Mexico City.
• Previous professional experience is not required.
• Professional working-level English.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, critical thinking, attention to detail, organisation, and willingness to learn Trade Compliance and Risk.
• Ability to work under supervision, follow instructions, communicate clearly, collaborate with others, and handle documentation responsibly.

Nice to have

• Academic projects, internships, social service, extracurricular activities, or exposure to customs, logistics, international trade, compliance, or risk.
• Basic or academic knowledge of Mexican customs legislation and related regulations, including LA, RLA, RGCE, and applicable Ministry of Economy rules.
