TL;DR

Senior Cryogenic Engineer (Quantum): Developing and integrating advanced 2K cryogenic platforms for SNSPD product systems with an accent on cryogenic subsystem specification, testing, maintainability, and rack-mountable deployment. Focus on designing complex cryostats, integrating cryogenic wiring and electronics, and coordinating system development with vendors and external partners.

What you will do

Support and develop advanced cryogenic platforms for the SNSPD product line, with emphasis on next-generation rack-mountable systems.
Lead system-level specification, integration, and testing of cryogenic platforms designed for SNSPD requirements.
Oversee cryogenic subsystems and deliver robust, reliable 2K cryo-systems for internal and customer environments.
Design, configure, improve, and provide operational support for deployable cryogenic systems.
Collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, cryogenic vendors, and external design partners on system integration.

Requirements

Master’s degree in applied physics, systems engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field; PhD preferred.
5–7+ years of experience in the cryogenic industry.
Proven experience designing, evaluating, and maintaining complex cryogenic systems, including dilution, sorption, and 1 K cryostats.
Strong knowledge of cryogenic wiring, sensors, and electronics.
Experience with CAD-based design and manufacturing processes.
Experience collaborating with cryogenic vendors, subcontractors, and external design partners on system integration.

Nice to have

Expertise in fibre or free-space optics.
Expertise with superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors.
Experience leading integration projects.
