Senior Platform Engineer (Azure/Kubernetes)

What you will do

• Define platform strategies, technical roadmaps, architectural standards, and reusable patterns for shared platforms.
• Design, implement, operate, and continuously improve secure Azure and Kubernetes platforms, including AKS, networking, registries, identity, secrets, backup, and PostgreSQL services.
• Build infrastructure as code, automated pipelines, GitOps delivery models, Kubernetes platform services, and self-service onboarding and provisioning capabilities.
• Implement authentication, authorization, governance, admission control, least-privilege isolation, software supply-chain security, image signing, and controlled deployments.
• Develop observability, monitoring, alerting, capacity management, autoscaling, reliability, and incident follow-up practices.
• Collaborate with application development, DevOps, security, infrastructure, architecture, and observability stakeholders; support integrations, migrations, deployment patterns, troubleshooting, proofs of concept, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Strong practical experience with Azure and Azure Kubernetes Service, including Entra ID, managed identities, Key Vault, Azure Container Registry, Private Link, Azure Backup, PostgreSQL Flexible Server, and Azure DevOps.
• Strong experience with infrastructure as code, automation, and development using Bicep, Terraform, Bash, Go, TypeScript, YAML, HCL, GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines, OIDC federation, and GitHub Apps.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes and GitOps, including Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Helm, Kustomize, Gateway API, Envoy Gateway, cert-manager, external-dns, External Secrets Operator, Azure Service Operator, Kyverno, Karpenter, Cilium, Calico, Istio, and custom horizontal pod autoscaling.
• Strong experience with observability and reliability tools including Grafana, Grafana Cloud, Mimir, Loki, Tempo, Alloy, kube-state-metrics, Prometheus, Thanos, Alertmanager, and Kibana.
• Strong experience with security and governance, including workload identity, federated credentials, RBAC, custom roles, admission control, multi-tenant security, policy enforcement, image signing and verification, CODEOWNERS, repository rulesets, and the Notary Project.
• Experience with requirements gathering, technical roadmaps, platform documentation, Jira Service Desk, and the Atlassian suite.
• Excellent analytical, architectural, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to gather and evaluate requirements and conduct proofs of concept.
• Ability to lead technical initiatives while balancing developer experience with security, reliability, governance, and operational requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to explain complex designs clearly.
