Technical Writer (Software Documentation)

What you will do

• Write and maintain technical documentation for web UI products, SDK integrations in multiple programming languages, REST APIs, and internal systems.
• Create documentation using Markdown and MDX in a Git repository, served through a Docusaurus website.
• Participate in CI operations, product development discussions, and internal documentation initiatives.
• Build documentation-related tools and run products, including integrating SDK code into mock applications to validate developer workflows.
• Interview developers, product managers, support engineers, and solutions engineers to gather and clarify information.
• Own a substantial portion of the documentation, contribute to the documentation roadmap, and manage a large backlog within release deadlines.

Requirements

• Professional experience as a software technical writer, software engineer with documentation experience, support engineer with documentation experience, solutions engineer with documentation experience, or a similar background.
• Strong technical and writing skills, high agency, and a demonstrated commitment to clarity and helping readers integrate products successfully.
• Ability to code at least a little and read code in various languages; familiarity with TypeScript, Kotlin, Swift, .NET, and C++ is helpful, while direct experience with these specific languages is not required.
• At least basic working knowledge of Git, including Git-based workflows on GitHub.
• Basic command-line knowledge, ideally with Linux or a Unix-like shell such as Bash, including SSH, directory navigation, and permission management.
• Ability to switch between writing and editing, remove unnecessary complexity, investigate codebases and Git branches, find missing information, and advocate for sensible solutions independently.
• Ability to use AI extensively for research and prototyping without introducing low-quality content into documentation.
• Strong personal time-management skills for working within release deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience writing a blog; the subject does not need to be technical writing or technology.
