TL;DR
Technical Writer (Networking) (MadCap Flare/network performance management): Creating customer-oriented documentation for network performance management products by analyzing specifications, interviewing developers, and exploring products hands-on with an accent on topic-based authoring, content reuse, and GUI and CLI documentation. Focus on planning documentation through product release, adapting schedules to changing requirements, and explaining complex networking, cloud, and virtualized environments clearly.

Location: Hybrid, Cluj-Napoca, Romania

What you will do

  • Write customer-oriented documentation for network performance management products using MadCap Flare.
  • Study product specifications, interview developers, and explore products hands-on to gather technical information.
  • Create topic-based content that improves help-system usability and supports single sourcing and content reuse.
  • Plan and manage documentation from project kickoff through product release, including schedules and milestones.
  • Collaborate with product management, engineering, quality assurance, and support subject matter experts.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of technical writing experience, including at least 1 year documenting computer networking.
  • Strong technical writing skills for complex software and hardware, with excellent grammar and attention to detail.
  • Good working knowledge of MadCap Flare and experience documenting graphical user interfaces.
  • Some experience documenting command-line interfaces and discussing complex technical issues clearly in writing and conversation.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new product terminology, revise priorities, and manage changing project requirements.
  • Strong collaboration, interviewing, listening, judgment, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience documenting virtualized environments such as ESXi, Nutanix, and Hyper-V.
  • Experience with cloud platforms including AWS and Azure.
  • Understanding of routers, switches, LANs, WANs, TCP/IP, NetFlow, SNMP, QoS, SSH, SSL, and packet header fields.
  • Experience documenting software APIs, using Jira, and working with global or remote teams.
