Java Sustaining Engineer (JavaFX)

Location: Almaty, Kazakhstan; onsite or remote work available

What you will do

• Track changes in OpenJDK and other relevant open-source projects.
• Maintain source repositories and apply or adapt fixes from OpenJDK and related projects.
• Fix bugs and support Core Libraries, AWT, Swing, and JavaFX components.
• Develop and release Core Libraries and JavaFX components.
• Backport relevant OpenJDK fixes to prior releases and custom JDK versions.
• Resolve, implement, test, and deploy fixes and workarounds for production and development issues.

Requirements

• BS/BA in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification.
• Relevant experience as a Java Developer, QA Engineer, Sustaining Engineer, or UI Developer.
• At least 2 years of Java development experience, preferably focused on enterprise applications.
• Experience with Core Java API and at least one of AWT, Swing, or JavaFX.
• Experience with Git or Mercurial.
• Basic experience with Linux and Bash.
• Intermediate English level or higher.

Nice to have

• Oracle Java SE certificate.
