Senior Risk Control Consultant Commercial Accounts

Location: Hybrid; Baltimore, Maryland, United States, with Richmond, Virginia also listed. The role requires consistent field presence, customer visits 20%–50% of the time, and may require overnight or extended travel by car or air.

Annual base salary: $99,100–$163,400, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Prepare, conduct, and complete technically detailed risk assessments for moderate- to high-complexity commercial risks across multiple industries and coverage lines.
• Evaluate hazards based on industry, account size, number of locations, and exposure type.
• Consult with clients and implement recommended risk-control measures to reduce, mitigate, or prevent losses.
• Build collaborative relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to coordinate high-quality risk-reduction services and support account selection and pricing decisions.
• Share technical knowledge and guide peers while staying current on industry trends, regulations, best practices, certifications, and continuing education.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety, construction management, basic sciences, or a related technical field.
• Six or more years of multiline risk control or risk management experience in the property and casualty insurance industry.
• Five years of experience in safety, risk control or management, or a related field such as occupational or environmental health and safety, science, engineering, construction, manufacturing, or relevant military service.
• Valid driver's license.
• Verbal and written communication, critical thinking, analytical, influencing, relationship-building, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Where applicable, the ability to obtain appropriate certification to meet state-specific requirements within the agreed timeframe.

Nice to have

• Relevant industry-recognized certifications or licenses such as ASP, ARM, CSP, CFPS, CIH, or CPE.
