Senior Product Manager (ML Models)

What you will do

• Own the product strategy, portfolio, roadmap, and lifecycle of machine learning models for maritime domain awareness products.
• Work with users, analysts, partners, and customers to understand maritime activity workflows and convert operational needs into prioritized problem statements, user journeys, requirements, and measurable success criteria.
• Define model metrics, acceptable error modes, latency and edge-compute budgets, data requirements, evaluation datasets, release criteria, and performance standards.
• Partner with Applied ML and RF ML Engineers on experiment design, evaluation methodology, error analysis, model iteration, and launch decisions.
• Communicate model strategy, progress, tradeoffs, and risks to executives, the board when needed, customers, and partners.
• Own execution from ideation through launch and monitoring, including feedback loops into data collection, labeling, retraining, experimentation, and evaluation practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in product management, program management, or technical leadership, including at least 2 years taking technical products from conception to launch.
• Experience defining requirements, success metrics, and evaluation approaches for ML or AI-powered products while working directly with ML engineers and data scientists.
• Experience running experiments and using data for product decisions, including A/B testing, offline evaluation, or similar methods.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams of engineers, researchers, designers, and operators without direct authority.
• Experience briefing senior leaders, executives, or customers on complex technical topics and shaping decisions.
• Working fluency in Python and SQL sufficient for data analysis and technical collaboration with engineers.
• Background or familiarity with applied ML, including predictive modeling, recommendation or ranking systems, or LLM/agentic pipelines, and familiarity with frameworks such as scikit-learn or TensorFlow.
• Background or familiarity with maritime, defense, aerospace, or national security environments, with the ability to translate operational needs into technical requirements.
