Senior Computer Vision Engineer (Space)

What you will do

• Design and develop computer vision algorithms for space object detection, tracking, and 6DoF pose estimation.
• Define computer vision subsystem architectures, requirements, and performance budgets aligned with mission objectives.
• Plan and execute verification, validation, hardware-in-the-loop campaigns, and integrated system testing.
• Support computer vision hardware procurement, including cameras and LiDAR systems, and collaborate with vendors and supply chain engineers.
• Integrate and test flight software implementations of computer vision algorithms with spacecraft and ground systems.
• Collaborate with Systems, GNC, Flight Dynamics, and other engineering disciplines; review work and guide junior engineers.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, aerospace engineering, or another relevant engineering or science discipline.
• At least 5 years of industrial or research experience developing and deploying computer vision algorithms.
• Strong knowledge of computer vision, image processing, machine learning, and deep learning.
• Strong programming skills in Python, MATLAB, C, or C++, with experience using OpenCV, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Understanding of LiDAR and camera sensor principles, software testing, software integration, Git, and configuration management.
• Basic knowledge of space system design and the ability to collaborate across technical disciplines.

Nice to have

• Experience with vision-based navigation in space, spacecraft systems, or the space industry.
• Knowledge of rigid-body dynamics, kinematics, LiDAR signal processing, sensor fusion, and multi-sensor perception.
• Embedded systems or safety-critical software development experience.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, Jenkins, ROS, or ROS2.
