Associate Scientist, Sample Logistics

Location: On-premise in Pearl River, New York, United States. Permanent U.S. work authorization is required; U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available. Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and eligibility.

Annual base salary: $60,200–$100,400, plus eligibility for a 7.5% bonus target.

What you will do

• Receive samples from global clinical and study trial sites according to approved protocols and enter them into an electronic database.
• Track and document sample chain of custody, including receipt, storage, retrieval, distribution, aliquoting, and disposal.
• Store and retrieve samples using manual freezers and the BiOS automated freezer storage system.
• Perform manual and Hamilton robotic aliquoting, assist with Hamilton instrument maintenance, and ship samples and lab supplies to internal and external testing laboratories.
• Complete clinical laboratory supply requests, including shipping forms, labels, and other supplies.
• Author Laboratory Manuals, resolve shipment discrepancies, and maintain compliant documentation and archives.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
• 0–3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work in a team setting.
• Experience using common AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, to support problem solving and productivity.
• Curiosity about how AI tools can improve outcomes and understanding of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.
• Ability to work in a laboratory environment for most of the workday, handle various bodily fluids and live microorganisms, and lift racks or boxes weighing up to 10 lbs.
• Ability to perform work in compliance with Sample Logistics SOPs, GXP, cGMP, GLP, and other regulatory requirements.
