Senior Energy Management Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Lindholmen, Gothenburg, Sweden; travel in Europe and China required, with around 3 expedition trips per year.

What you will do

• Develop, integrate, calibrate, and verify climate control software within the Energy Management team.
• Improve climate and thermal system performance and energy efficiency for next-generation vehicle products.
• Design, simulate, and auto-generate control algorithms for HVAC and battery thermal-management systems using model-based development.
• Analyze and resolve complex software issues involving functionality, performance, and integration.
• Perform software calibration, function validation, bench testing, road testing, and subjective vehicle evaluation.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, testing, product teams, and global stakeholders.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Control Systems, Vehicle Engineering, Applied Physics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant automotive industry experience in climate and thermal systems.
• Solid domain knowledge of climate and thermal systems, including HVAC, battery cooling, powertrain cooling, and control theory such as PID and state machines.
• Experience analyzing and resolving complex software issues related to functionality, performance, and integration.
• Experience with Model-Based Development using MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow, including auto-generation through Embedded Coder.
• Experience with embedded software development in C/C++.
• Experience with software calibration using INCA and CANape, function validation, and bench and road testing.
• Process knowledge and quality assurance experience in software development.
• Swedish B driver’s licence and experience in vehicle testing and subjective evaluation.
• Proof of immediate, ongoing, and valid eligibility to work full time in Sweden.
• Proficient spoken and written English.
