Senior Process Engineer (Biomass Conversion and Mechanical Fiber)

Location: Sundsvall, Sweden; international contacts and travelling are included.

What you will do

• Prepare heat and mass balances and develop process concepts.
• Design tailored engineering and technology solutions for customer needs.
• Work with customers, sales teams, and colleagues across hirify.global to support projects and deliver lifecycle value.
• Support plant start-ups, troubleshoot process challenges, and optimize plant performance.
• Identify opportunities to reduce energy and chemical consumption and improve customer sustainability.
• Contribute to technology development for Biomass Conversion and Mechanical Fiber products with international stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional experience as a process engineer in the pulping industry or a similar field.
• Strong problem-solving skills, technical calculation ability, and capacity to work independently while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to combine technical expertise with customer relationship-building skills.
• Excellent English skills, both verbal and written.
• Willingness to work with international contacts and travel.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of additional languages.
• Experience presenting technical solutions to an audience.
