2027 Spring Co-op CMC Early-Stage Drug Product Development (Biopharmaceutical Development)

Location: Framingham, MA, United States; onsite, with relocation to the office location required. Must work 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, for the full 6-month co-op. Applicants must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and must not require current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Salary: $45–$57 USD per hour.

What you will do

• Support the research-to-development transition of biologic drugs and contribute to commercial formulation foundations.
• Contribute to developability assessments, preformulation studies, and formulation and drug product process development.
• Support cycle-1 studies, including in-use studies, formulation development, and process development.
• Investigate molecular determinants of high-concentration solution behavior, including viscosity, opalescence, and phase separation.
• Initiate, design, and perform technology development experiments while ensuring compliant experimental data capture.
• Present data to department and project teams.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a master’s or PhD degree in biochemistry, biophysics, pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical science, chemical engineering, life sciences, or a related field, with planned graduation in Spring 2027 or 2028.
• Must remain enrolled in an accredited college or university throughout the co-op.
• Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employment visa sponsorship. Students on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT generally do not qualify unless eligible for an alternative long-term status without company sponsorship.
• Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, for the full co-op duration.
• Strong scientific knowledge in pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry, biotechnology, biophysics, molecular biology, or a related field.
• Experience working in a laboratory environment and demonstrated ability to work independently on a project.
• Data fluency, attention to data quality, a collaborative mindset, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in biopharmaceutical development or protein characterization.
• Experience with chromatographic techniques and data analysis software.
• Experience with biochemical and biophysical assays, including HPLC, CE-SDS, icIEF, CD, AUC, DSC, DLS/SLS, and mass spectrometry.
• Familiarity with regulatory guidelines for biologic drug development.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis software.
• Scientific rigor, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
