Senior Backend Engineer (Golang)

Location: Vilnius or Kaunas, Lithuania. Hybrid work with two recommended office days per week; remote work is available under the stated workation policy.

Gross monthly salary: €4,975–€6,725.

What you will do

• Design, build, and own backend services for high-volume push, email, and in-app communications.
• Lead technical design for send-time optimisation, frequency capping, rich push, and recommendation-driven targeting.
• Partner with data scientists to deploy machine learning models and build experimentation and measurement capabilities.
• Improve message-delivery reliability, observability, monitoring, and safe delivery of legal and transactional communications.
• Decouple CRM logic from the core monolith into maintainable standalone services.
• Review code, mentor engineers, collaborate with product teams, and participate in on-call rotations.

Requirements

• Solid experience building and operating backend systems at scale, preferably high-throughput or event-driven systems.
• Experience with backend applications, databases, APIs, and service-based systems.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, with a focus on clean, maintainable, testable code.
• Interest in distributed systems, architectural trade-offs, experimentation, and machine learning in production.
• Willingness to develop backend engineering skills with Go; experience with all listed technologies is not required.
• Ability to take ownership, contribute ideas, collaborate effectively, and help other engineers grow.

Nice to have

• Experience with messaging, notifications, or data pipelines.
• Experience leading the extraction of domains or packages from a monolith into decoupled services.
