Lead Go Engineer (AI/ML)

Location: Remote within the listed CEE/EU locations: Georgia, Albania, Serbia, Slovenia, Ukraine, EU, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, and Armenia. Working hours are 09:00–18:00 CEST.

Salary: $4,200–$4,500 per month before taxes; the role is offered on a B2B basis.

What you will do

• Lead the design and evolution of scalable distributed systems in Go.
• Integrate and configure AI/ML capabilities, including model selection, API integration, prompt engineering, and production deployment.
• Translate business objectives into technical roadmaps and delivery plans.
• Conduct architecture and code reviews while mentoring senior engineers.
• Represent engineering in external stakeholder meetings and challenge unrealistic requirements.
• Improve CI/CD, observability, engineering processes, and the balance between hands-on development and technical leadership.

Requirements

• 5–6+ years of commercial Go development experience.
• 2+ years of experience as a technical lead or lead engineer.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and Go concurrency, including goroutines, channels, and synchronization primitives.
• Production experience implementing, configuring, or integrating AI/ML solutions, including LLMs, RAG pipelines, OpenAI APIs, LangChain, or similar frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and modern DevOps practices, plus higher education in IT.
• English at C1 level, readiness to work CEST hours, use a corporate laptop, and complete a live Go coding task during the client interview.
