Senior Engineer, Mechanical (R5482)

Location: Dallas, Texas, United States; on-site

Salary: $120,000–$175,000 per year, plus bonus, benefits, and equity for regular full-time employees.

What you will do

• Design and integrate mechanical components and subsystems for V-BAT aircraft from concept through production release.
• Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, 2D production drawings, bills of materials, and revision-controlled release packages.
• Apply GD&T, tolerance analysis, material selection, and design-for-manufacturing principles.
• Package radios, antennas, PCB assemblies, sensors, connectors, and harnesses within assigned subsystems.
• Collaborate with electrical, RF, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and test teams during development and production.
• Support prototype builds, qualification testing, troubleshooting, root-cause investigations, and production integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
• At least 5 years of mechanical design and product-development experience, including ownership through production release.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5, including datum selection, position, profile, form, orientation controls, and inspection design.
• Proficiency with a production CAD platform such as NX, Creo, CATIA, SolidWorks, or Inventor.
• Experience designing with metals, engineering plastics, composites, elastomers, adhesives, and multiple manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work independently and solve design, manufacturing, and integration problems with cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
• Background in airborne, aerospace, defense, or ruggedized hardware.
• Experience with composite structures, hybrid composite-metal assemblies, RF packaging, wiring harnesses, and connector integration.
• Knowledge of thermal management, grounding, shielding, EMI/EMC, vibration, shock, temperature, corrosion, and ingress protection.
• Experience supporting prototype builds, environmental testing, ground support equipment, or field troubleshooting.
