Senior Backend Engineer (Logistics)

Location: Hybrid in Vilnius or Kaunas, Lithuania; two office days per week are recommended but not enforced

Salary: €4,975–€6,725 gross per month

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for the hirify.global Go logistics network.
• Own technical initiatives from problem framing and system design through delivery, monitoring, and iteration.
• Develop platform capabilities for carrier integrations, inventory, orders, operational workflows, tracking, and service availability.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, quality engineers, data colleagues, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain service reliability through alerts, metrics, incident follow-up, testing, code reviews, and on-call rotations.
• Use AI tools thoughtfully to improve development workflows and team delivery.

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering experience building reliable systems and owning work from design through production.
• Solid experience with Ruby and/or Go, or the ability to learn the backend stack quickly.
• Knowledge of API design, database-backed systems, observability, and production service operations.
• Experience balancing delivery speed, reliability, and long-term maintainability in ambiguous environments.
• Strong collaboration, communication, mentoring, and technical feedback skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English; hybrid work in Vilnius or Kaunas, Lithuania.

• Experience with logistics, fulfilment, partner-facing platforms, or operational workflows.
