Principal COPV Engineer (Aerospace)

Hiring range: $185,000–$277,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Develop gas-storage architecture for the Terran R reusable launch vehicle.
• Partner with third-party vendors on the design and analysis of gas-storage COPVs.
• Collaborate with thermo-fluid engineers on vehicle gas-system design and operation.
• Establish qualification and acceptance test campaigns, perform testing, and review data.
• Support COPV integration on the rocket and manage vendor selection and performance.
• Conduct trade studies and assess long-term COPV design and manufacturing plans.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in engineering or a technical discipline.
• 12+ years of relevant technical experience.
• Experience applying pressure-vessel engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with fluid and mechanical system design and operation.
• Ability to work on-site at the factory in Long Beach, California, United States.

• Experience with COPVs or other composite structures.
