Project Engineer (Microsoft 365 & Cloud Migrations)

Location: Remote within the United States; travel for project work at least once a month, with regular nights and weekends required for off-hours upgrades and migrations.

Annual salary: $85,000–$120,000, with possible bonus or incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Plan and execute Exchange Server to Exchange Online, Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant, and Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 migrations.
• Migrate file shares to SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Egnyte, Box, or comparable platforms.
• Configure and operate Quest On Demand Migration, AvePoint Fly, BitTitan, ShareGate, or similar migration tools.
• Manage discovery, pilot migrations, delta synchronization, cutovers, post-migration validation, and operational handoffs.
• Troubleshoot migration errors, identity conflicts, permissions, mail flow, and endpoint transition issues.
• Coordinate technical delivery with Project Managers, maintain documentation and project updates, and own assigned tasks through completion.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant IT experience, including substantial Microsoft 365 administration or migration delivery.
• Hands-on expertise with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Exchange Server, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Entra ID, and Active Directory integration.
• Experience delivering production email or data migration projects, including planning, cutovers, troubleshooting, and validation.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server, DNS, firewall connectivity, Intune, endpoint enrollment, Azure fundamentals, hybrid identity, VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, and cloud file platforms.
• Ability to work remotely from the United States and travel for project work at least once a month.
• Availability for regular nights and weekends during off-hours upgrades and migrations.

Nice to have

• Particularly strong experience with Quest On Demand Migration or AvePoint Fly.
• Experience contributing across networking, cloud, infrastructure, security, and identity disciplines.
