Senior Software Engineer, Mid Market Intelligence (AI)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States

Base pay: $171,000–$231,500 per year in Mountain View; the position may also include bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and develop scalable, secure, highly available services for an AI-native ERP serving mid-market businesses.
• Build AI-native product experiences using LLM orchestration, retrieval-augmented generation, tool use, function calling, and multi-agent patterns.
• Develop AI-driven workflows with human-in-the-loop collaboration, approvals, explainability, and proactive automation.
• Build data pipelines and context/retrieval foundations using scalable and event-driven architectures.
• Evaluate and improve AI features through offline evaluations, online experimentation, A/B testing, and production quality monitoring.
• Collaborate with product, design, architecture, and engineering teams while mentoring junior engineers and maintaining operational quality.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software development experience and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong coding and design skills in Java, Python, or TypeScript, including REST/JSON service design.
• Hands-on experience with GenAI and agentic concepts, LLM APIs, prompt and context engineering, retrieval/RAG, tool use, and function calling.
• Experience designing distributed systems, highly scalable web services, data-processing systems, and event-driven architectures such as Kafka or Spark.
• Advanced proficiency with AWS or GCP and strong familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and experimentation skills, with the ability to work in an ambiguous, fast-paced product environment.
