What you will do

• Define and drive scientific strategy across several preclinical therapeutics projects.
• Translate human genetic and biological insights into prioritized drug discovery plans.
• Oversee portfolio budgets, resource allocation, and projects from target validation through preclinical proof-of-concept.
• Mentor project leads and build a team to identify, develop, and prosecute new therapeutic targets.
• Make go/no-go and prioritization decisions based on scientific rationale, feasibility, and strategic fit.
• Develop biotech and pharma partnerships and represent therapeutics programs in external discussions, conferences, and diligence processes.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in neuroscience, pharmacology, molecular or cell biology, chemistry, or a related life sciences field.
• 10+ years of industry drug discovery experience in biotech or pharma, with programs led from target identification through IND-enabling studies or beyond.
• Required experience in CNS or psychiatric disease drug discovery.
• 7+ years of experience managing scientists, including hiring, mentoring, and performance development.
• Experience managing multi-project portfolios and making prioritization and resourcing decisions.
• Experience with external partnerships, licensing, or business development, plus strong written and verbal communication skills.
