What you will do

• Support research and development programs by assisting with polymer synthesis experiment design and conducting experiments independently.
• Collect, summarize, analyze, and present experimental data and test results.
• Troubleshoot laboratory issues and collaborate with research investigators when results are unexpected or incorrect.
• Document findings, recommend improvements to laboratory methods, and contribute to work plans and next steps.
• Manage laboratory workflow, equipment maintenance, chemical and supply inventories, and assigned priorities.
• Handle, categorize, and dispose of chemicals safely while maintaining laboratory and site safety practices.

Requirements

• Four years of relevant work experience or a college or technical-school degree in Chemistry or a related field; relevant experience may replace the degree.
• No prior work experience is required when the applicable college degree requirement is met.
• Strong interpersonal, written, verbal, computer, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple projects, and meet established deadlines.
• Ability to work with hazardous materials and interpret safety, operating, maintenance, and procedure manuals.
• Must work onsite in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related discipline.
• At least three years of experience synthesizing polymers or organic compounds in an industrial laboratory environment.
